Scottsdale, AZ - Richard C. "Rick" Tamburino, Jr., of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away on March 20, 2026, leaving a legacy of strong moral character, professionalism, and quiet strength. Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and a graduate of Elon University, Rick later made Scottsdale his home, where he built both his life and career. He was known as a steady, detail-oriented man with unmatched honesty and integrity. Rick's reliability and principled nature earned the trust of colleagues, clients, and friends alike.


Rick devoted nearly 30 years to residential construction lending, becoming a highly respected mortgage professional and executive with deep expertise in portfolio lending and construction finance. He began his banking career at M&I Bank, formerly Fifth Third Bank, State Savings Bank, building a strong foundation that would define his decades of success. Continuing at Silver State Bank, formerly known as Choice Bank. He later served at Arizona Federal Credit Union, formerly known as Pinnacle Bank, and ultimately finished his career before retiring at Western Alliance Bank as a senior executive serving as Vice President, Construction Risk Administrator. In this capacity, and throughout his career, he oversaw a substantial portfolio of residential construction loans and guided complex projects from origination through completion. He was known for his precision, sound judgment, and ability to navigate challenges with thoughtful solutions. Throughout his career, a few of his most memorable professional achievements included: Top Inside Loan Originator, Top Loan Volume Producer, Chairman's Council, and Top Goal Attainment.

Rick will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments, but for his dedication to always doing things the right way. His legacy endures in the many lives he impacted and the example he set. He will also be remembered as an excellent writer who had a lifelong love of photography.


Rick will be greatly missed by his mother, Barbara Tamburino of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and his sisters and their spouses, Kristine Young (Roark) of Coral Gables, Florida; Cynthia Kramer (Ronald) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Kimberly Tamburino of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Kelly Nicholson (Richard Aufenger) of Norfolk, Virginia; and his nieces and nephews, Nicholas Wenzel (Hannah), Will Ryan (Elisabeth), June Kramer West (Sterling), Alex Kramer (Sabrina), Austin Kramer, Joyce Kramer, Sam Kramer (Ariela), Nick Nicholson, Edward Nicholson (Allie), Olivia Tamburino; and his cousin, Barry Jacobson. Rick was predeceased by his father, Richard C. Tamburino, Sr.


The family held a private ceremony in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cancer research of your choice.
