Surprise, AZ - Michael Irvin Trenhaile

On Saturday February 28, 2026, Michael I. Trenhaile completed his Earthly journey and went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mike was born in The Dalles, OR, and passed in Surprise, AZ. He was the first child of Irvin R. Trenhaile and Norma L. French. The family moved to Buckeye, Arizona in approximately 1957. He attended Liberty, AZ Elementary school, went to Douglas, AZ middle school, attended and graduated from Buckeye Union High School in 1973.

Mike learned to cut meat at Gillum's Meat Company in Buckeye and worked at the Safeway Meat distribution center in Tempe, AZ after graduation. He married Christi Stewart in 1976 and made their home in Tempe.

In 1984 Mike changed careers, he attended taxidermy school in Phoenix. After course completion he opened his studio in Tempe, AZ. He created many, beautiful works of natural art, and built an impressive clientele.

Mike's favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, photography and he was an avid reader. He shared all of this with his friends, family and children. He was always willing to share his knowledge and experiences with anyone who wanted to learn or participate.

He was a natural leader, a great conversationalist, an arbitrator, a guide, and often thought he was a comedian. Most of all he was a wonderful father to his boys, and anyone else who might need one.

Mike is survived by his wife Christi, sons Barrett (Lisa), and Drew, his first grandchild, Ryan Michael James Trenhaile, his sister Lina Trenhaile, and a very large and loving, extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026, at 1;00pm.
