Scottsdale, arizona - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gary Lee Todd Jr. on March 8, 2026.
Gary was born on September 28, 1966, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Gary Lee Todd and Sylvia I. Todd. He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Todd; his fiancé and partner, Tessa Nagel; his sister, Jennifer Fitz; and his beloved nieces, Rebecca, Gabriella, and Cecilia Fitz. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Marina Frias, and his uncle, Ron Frias, a Vietnam Marine veteran. Gary deeply valued and loved his relationships with family, his fiancé, friends, clients, and his close-knit band of brothers.
His attended Northern Arizona University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management. His professional journey began in the golf world as an Assistant Golf Professional at Grand Cypress, FL and Las Campanas, NM Golf Clubs. He went on to build an accomplished 31-year career with Realty Executives as a Sales Agent, Broker, and Real Estate Developer.
Gary embraced life with enthusiasm and a spirit of adventure. He loved traveling and exploring Canada, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, California, Colorado and Idaho. Gary treasured his summer in Newport Beach. And Telluride was his haven, where he found great joy golfing at his favorite "The Peaks Golf Course:, as well as skiing, biking, fishing and hiking. He loved camping and appreciated the beauty of Redfish Lake in Idaho. Nature was his constant inspiration.
Gary had a deep passion for music and a lifelong love of animals, especially his beloved dogs, Diego, Blue & Gwen. His compassion extended far beyond his own circle—he had a quiet way of looking out for others, often stepping in to support those who needed it most. His kindness, generosity, and instinct to care for both people and animals were simply part of who he was.
As a child, Gary loved watching Lassie, Wild Kingdom, and The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. He remained a lifelong reader, with interests spanning architecture, historical wars, autobiographies, and golf legends.
Gary was funny, loving, intelligent, generous, athletic, and kind. Many described him as "bigger than life." He will be remembered for his deep love of family and friends, his adventurous spirit and his quick humor. He will be profoundly missed.
